Artist Lindsay Parnell and I collaborated for a set of text scores and a public performance during the SOMA Summer 2019 residency in Mexico City.  Our scores were published in X, the tenth anniversary publication for the SOMA Summer program. Lindsay and I spent time walking through various Mexico City markets together whereby our primary focus became how bodies were moving through these spaces; both the bodies of the people moving within them daily as well as our own. We listened and absorbed with intention; noting bodily movement and potency. Our bodies accumulated knowledge critical to the development of our collaboration. Our text scores were written after several visits and we made photographs of plant-life whose forms we integrated into our publication layout. For our performance, which was also a development of this research and an extension of our text scores, we selected various plants from the markets which we purchased and extended as gifts to several individuals in attendance.
